Observing Values in the Revitalized Traditional Markets and in Modern markets

The participants of the Short course and Study Tur  on Technological Advancement in Value Added Agriculture and Linking Farmers to Market Through Small Holder’s Group Approach conducted UCDP observed the values existed on the traditional revitalized market at the city of Denpasar-Bali and comparing that values that emerge dynamically in the modern markets.  The participants were really enjoyed to visit two different markets with different values which have to be known in order to generate value activities down the supply chains. Prof. I Made S. Utama explained that the traditional agribusiness supply chains are mostly less value oriented since they are traditionally link with static wet markets.  That is why, from his value chain assessment, the traditional agribusiness chain system is inefficient and ineffective to get benefit from the emerging the modern dynamic markets in Bali.  "Those traditional systems could not compete in the dynamic change of modern markets" Prof. Utama said.
